Film Talk: American Musical Film Classics
Take an in-depth look at some of the classics of the American musical genre. We will discuss the unforgettable dance team of Fred and Ginger, along with the legacy of such icons as Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly; Audrey Hepburn and Leslie Caron, along with great composers such as Jerome Kern and Rodgers and Hammerstein; and terrific filmmakers, including Stanley Donen and Vincent Minnelli.
Instructor: Roberta Presser is an experienced film lecturer and drama teacher. She earned a Masters in Arts degree from Columbia University and attended Columbia's Graduate Film School. She has worked as an assistant director, assistant to the producer, and unit location manager on such films as The Blues Brothers, Friday the 13th Part II, Princes Daisy, He Knows You're Alone, and Circle of Two.
