The Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) was enacted during the Great Depression to ensure that Americans receive the wages that they have earned. It is vital that employers understand and are aware of common compliance issues and hotspots in order to comply with this nearly 100-year-old law. In this program, our hotspots will include information and guidance on: what is considered work time; the payment of overtime; when is travel time compensable; who qualifies as an independent contractor; and, much more.
