To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the National Wild and Scenic River Act, Richard Roberts, retired biologist for the Florida Park Service, will present how the Loxahatchee River was designated Florida's first National Wild and Scenic River 33 years ago. This is the story of how a few good people, lots of community support, tons of hard work, too many meetings, untold canoe trips, and a great deal of luck made it happen.
