Event Description:
Topic- ADA Compliance & Inclusivity for the Hearing Impaired 
  • Who: Title II & III entities that serve the public (including 60+ million Americans with hearing loss, a CDC estimate.)
  • What: As with ramps for wheelchairs, wireless technology exists to enhance the use of hearing aids and cochlear implants.
  • Why: The ADA requires equally effective communication with the public, regardless of any communication disorders.
  • When: ADA rules for Effective Communication went into effect on March 15, 2011. Enforcement dates vary according to the public?s pursuit of effective accommodations.
Peggy Bell is the Director of Marketing & Sales for Audio Directions, a technology firm that specializes in audio induction loop design, installation, training and support for ADA compliance.
