Dr. Polyak is currently the Director of Rehabilitation at Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, FL, one of the busiest sea turtle hospitals in the world. He also serves on the Steering Committee of Sea Turtle Rescue Alliance, which will facilitate the growth of and provide sea turtle rehabilitation facilities around the world with specialized veterinary expertise.
Polyak served as director of the organ transplant surgery units in the Colleges of Medicine at Cornell University and the University of Florida, and as a founding veterinarian and trustee of the Sea Turtle Hospital at the University of Florida. He is widely published in the veterinary and human medical literature, frequently serves as a consultant to biotech firms and is courtesy faculty in the surgery department at the School of Medicine at the University of Florida. In his free time, he enjoys surfing and yoga.
