Date: January 27, 2015
Time: 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM EST
Registration: Sorry, public registration for this event has been closed.
Event Description:

Even though Florida’s “Medical Marijuana” Constitutional Amendment crashed and burned this last election cycle, the issue is far from resolved.   Legislators have promised action, but to what end?  What will “a drug free workplace” really mean in 2015 and beyond?

Employment and Labor Lawyers, Christine D. Hanley and Bari L. Goldstein of FordHarrison LLP will consider these and other smoldering topics associated with employee drug testing.  This inter-active workshop will task and challenge employers with the information and knowledge they require to make informed decisions regarding employee drug testing, the results of that testing and the employment relationship.  We’ll consider some of the “hotter” issues arising out of these laws and impacting organizations today including whether and if to drug test, what are the benefits and burdens to employment drug testing and how will employers cope with the volatile fodder of laws, rules and regulations impacting and impacted by “legalized” drug use.  And, time permitting, we’ll tackle the broader issue of pre-employment testing generally.

Information regarding CLE, CPE, and CEU Continuing Education credits will be provided at the workshop.
