Claudia Mason, M.D., M.Sc. Receives Palm Beach County Medical Society’s Heroes in Medicine Award

West Palm Beach, Fla. – June 9, 2017 Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Claudia Mason, M.D., M.Sc., was recognized as a 2017 Physician Hero by the Palm Beach County Medical Society. The award is given to individuals whose skills and dedication to the profession have contributed in significant ways to the betterment of local, national and/or international health care.
 
“Dr. Mason’s passion for advancing women’s health and her leadership and mentorship of women in medicine truly makes her a hero in medicine,” said Viviane Connor, MD, Medical Director of Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Tomsich Health and Medical Center of Palm Beach County. “Her dedication to both her patients and furthering the health of women outside of the clinic is remarkable.”
 
Dr. Mason joined Cleveland Clinic in 2008, and has been a practicing physician for more than 35 years. As a certified OB-GYN and menopause practitioner, she practices well-women care, ambulatory gynecology, contraception, menopause, and hormone therapy. In 2015, she was named Physician of the Year for Quality and Patient Safety by Cleveland Clinic Florida and holds the position of Regional Quality Offer for the institution.
 
In addition, Dr. Mason serves on the Board of Directors for the South Florida affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and is the Palm Beach representative for the Women’s Professional Staff Association at Cleveland Clinic Florida. She is also a member of the American Medical Women’s Association, receiving the AWMA’s 2016 Local Hero Award.
 
Dr. Mason currently serves as a fellow with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and as a member of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the North American Menopause Society, and the American Medical Association.
 
A graduate of City College of New York in New York, Dr. Mason earned her medical degree at the Universidad de Zaragoza in Spain. She completed her residency in obstetrics/gynecology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and earned a Master of Science in Medical Management from the University of Texas Dallas.
