WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (April 30, 2018) – A vibrant, entertaining new mini-magazine will debut tomorrow with an editorial focus on life in Downtown West Palm. DISTRICT will be published monthly, except for July and August, by Donkey Tales Media Co. of West Palm Beach, FL. Owned and edited by Carey O’Donnell, who also operates an advertising, PR and digital media company in West Palm Beach and Sarasota, FL, DISTRICT will be available in both digital email and print formats, with an initial print run of 10,000 copies. Five thousand of the first run will be mailed to West Palm Beach residents and businesses by the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority.

Its captivating, creative, “fold-out” format takes into account how people prefer to consume content today. Pocket-sized, with short, succinct articles and plenty of entertaining images, the inaugural May issue will be available as of April 26 in downtown stores, restaurants, condominium lobbies, office towers, public buildings, hotels, libraries, the Palm Beach County Business Development Board, Discover the Palm Beaches and at the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches.

Bold in both content and design, DISTRICT offers insider color commentary about life in Downtown West Palm Beach. Urban and urbane, it’s a wordsmith’s delight with columns such as The Food Bro, anonymous, contributed restaurant reviews; Dropped Off, tales of a downtown Uber driver; Here and There, real estate comparisons in three local markets; Concrete Ideas, an overview of new construction; Five Loaded Questions, profiles of the high profile; The Watch List; Snap Judgement; and a monthly fashion column featuring local man-on-the-street photos called Worn Out.

“It’s monetized rather unconventionally, with a limited amount of paid content wrapped within the organic editorial. We also feature a ‘sponsor bar’ that appears as a short-fold in the printed piece,” said DISTRICT editor Carey O’Donnell. “The more that the area’s sophisticated, educated, engaged recipients read about smart, interesting, dynamic people involved in a variety of aspects of downtown life, the more likely they are to form a bond with our downtown, and will be more open to patronizing, investing, enjoying and talking about downtown West Palm Beach. And that’s all good, from every perspective.”

The free mini-magazine is emailed monthly to an initial list of 9,000, supplemented by the 10,000 printed copies. Subscription is essential to continue to receive the publication.  Donkey Tales Media is already in talks with other South Florida downtowns and special taxing districts to introduce regionalized editions
