BOCA RATON, Fla. (April 9, 2019) – The law firm of Sachs Sax Caplan announced today that Michael E. Chapnick, Esq., has joined the firm’s Boca Raton office. Chapnick is a Florida Bar-certified specialist in Condominium and Planned Unit Development Law. He has focused his nearly 25-year career in representing community associations on a variety of issues ranging from day-to-day operations to complex anti-discrimination and disability requirements.

Chapnick’s role will involve advising clients in all aspects of community association law, including collections and lien foreclosures, turnover issues, document interpretation and amendments, satellite dish restrictions, Fair Housing Amendment Act issues, emotional support animal issues, and complying with the Americans with Disabilities and Fair Housing Acts.
Chapnick graduated from the University of Maryland with of Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics before attending the Detroit College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor cum laude. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1995 and the Florida Bar in 2001. He also teaches continuing education courses to the Florida Community Association Managers, conducts board member certification courses, and lectures on a variety of topics including legislative updates, assessment collection and foreclose strategies, covenant enforcement, fair housing and occupancy screening issues.
