Scott Hawkins Receives 2019 UF Law Distinguished Service Award

West Palm Beach, FL - Scott Hawkins, Litigation Shareholder and the Firm’s Vice-Chair, was awarded the 2019 Distinguished Service Award by the University of Florida Levin College of Law. The Distinguished Service Award is conferred upon an alum who has contributed outstanding service over an extended period toward the progress and activities of the law school and its students.
Presenting the prestigious award was Dean Laura A. Rosenbury who spoke of Scott’s invaluable leadership and unwavering dedication to the University and to professional excellence in the legal field. She referenced Scott’s 2015 University of Florida Law Review article entitled, Perspective on Judicial Merit Retention in Florida, which was cited by the Supreme Court of the United States in their opinion in Williams-Yulle v. Florida Bar.
Scott is an active member and committed alumnus of UF Law, holding significant leadership positions, including President of the UF National Alumni Association, President of the UF College of Law Alumni Council, Chair of the College of Law Board of Trustees, Board Member for the University of Florida Foundation, and Chair of the Council of Advisors for the Bob Graham Center for Public Policy.
Scott has also held leadership roles in regional, state, and national industry organizations including serving as a Past President of The Florida Bar and Past President of the Palm Beach County Bar Association. He has been recognized by his peers and by legal industry publications for his significant contributions to the legal community. He is consistently ranked by The Best Lawyers in America, Florida Super Lawyers, and the South Florida Legal Guide, and has received the AV Preeminent® peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell, awarded to only those lawyers with the highest ethical standards and legal ability.
Scott Hawkins is a Florida Board Certified specialist in Business Litigation and is a nationally recognized corporate and business litigation attorney. He focuses his practice in commercial and corporate litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property, trade secret disputes, covenants not to compete, securities, and real estate litigation.
