WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (October 18, 2018) — “Talk to Me!” That’s the inviting message that will soon be seen on jacket lapels, shirt collars, purse straps and briefcases around Downtown West Palm Beach. The conversation bubble-shaped pins are not just a new fashion statement, but part of a larger effort by the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to spark friendly conversations and create an even greater sense of unity among local stakeholders, residents and visitors.
“A friendly face is one of the most powerful marketing tools, and we’re trying to foster new relationships among residents and visitors to downtown,” said Tiffany Faublas, marketing director of the West Palm Beach DDA. “We’ve chosen a diverse group of local citizens and business leaders who are informed and invested in downtown to serve as our brand ambassadors. They’ll wear the pins to prompt impromptu conversations or answer questions about what’s happening in the area, from new construction projects to the best place to grab a slice of pizza.”
An idea created and designed by the DDA’s PR firm, O’Donnell Agency, the pins will help to shape perceptions among visitors about the warmth and level of welcome downtown. The thoughtful use of colors and font selection promotes the inviting tone, and the design includes the hashtag #downtownwpb to encourage further conversation online.
The program officially launched Thursday, Oct. 18 at 8:30 a.m. during a kick-off reception at Subculture Coffee on Clematis Street. Some of the most informed and insightful residents and business leaders have been selected to serve as DDA ambassadors. The all-volunteer group includes
Roy Assad; Danielle Casey; Michael Cuevas; Howard Pincus, Maiju and Phil Growick; Monte Lambert; Susan Landeryou; Jim Kovalsky; Meghan McKenna; Bill Newgent; Rick Rose; and
Aaron Wormus.
