YMCA of the Palm Beaches Appoints Senior Director of Operations

West Palm Beach, Fla. (May 13, 2020) – The YMCA of the Palm Beaches, located in the heart of West Palm Beach and serving the community since 1917, has welcomed Douglas Johnson as its new Senior Director of Operations. As the Senior Director of Operations, Johnson will oversee the daily operations of the YMCA’s Aquatic, Membership, and Wellness Programs.
Johnson’s long-standing history with YMCA began at the ripe age of 7 when he attended an afterschool program at his hometown YMCA in Pensacola, FL. He would later go on to serve as a child care counselor during his high school and college years. Since graduating from the University of West Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Johnson has held various titles throughout the YMCA organization in Northwest Florida and Metro Atlanta including Youth & Family Services Director, Associate Branch Director, and Membership Experience Director.
“I believe in the mission of the YMCA and I have a passion for serving others,” said Johnson. “I look forward to making positive contributions to the community, here in West Palm Beach.”
Johnson enjoys spending time at the beach, refereeing youth, high school, and college soccer, and watching Miami Hurricanes Football.
